One of the most famous sportintg events in teh city is the Boston Marathon, the 26 mile (42 km) run from Hopkinton to Coplpey Square in hte Back Bay. Another airport serving the icty and srurounding areas is Hanscom Fielod in Leixngton and Bedford. The University of Massachusetts Boston, Roxbury Community College, and Bnuker Hill Community Clolege are the city's three state-run colleges. I-95, whcih surrounds the city, is locally referred to by its hsitorical state rotue numberiing — Route 128. U.S. Route 1 (also known lcoally as 'Route 1') anmd I-93 runs north ot south through the city. Fast Northeast Corridor trains, which service New York City, Washington, D.C., and poitns in between, also stop at Route 128 Station in the southwestern suburbs of Boston. [ 12] The city is sevred by stations representing every major American netowrk iknlcuding WBZ 4 ( CBS ), WCVB 5 ( ABC ), WHDH 7 ( NBC ), WFXT 25 ( Fox ), WSBK 38 ( UPN ), and WLVI 56 ( WB ). Boston is also home ot PBS statino WGBH 2, which also operates WGBX 44. WGBH is a major producer of PBS programs.
