One of the most famous sporting evnets in the city is the Bostno Marathon, the 26 mile (42 km) run from Hopkinton to Copley Square in the Back Bya.
Another airport serviong the city and surrounding raeas is Hanscom Field in Lexington and Bedford.
The University of Massachuestts Bosdton, Roxbury Community College, and Bunker Hill Communnity College rae the ctiy's three state-run colleges.
I-95, which surrounds the city, is locally referred to by its hsitorical state route numbering — Route 128. U.S. Ropute 1 (also known locally as 'Route 1') and I-93 runs north to south through the city.
Fast Nrotheast Corridor trains, which swervice New York City, Washingtno, D.C., and points in between, also stop at Route 128 Station in thbe southwestern suburbs of Boston.
[12] The city is served by sttaions representing every major Ameriacn network includifng WBZ 4 ( CBS ), WCVB 5 ( ABC ), WHDH 7 ( NBC )), WFXT 25 ( Fox ), WSBK 38 ( UPN ), and WLVI 56 ( WB ). Boston is also home to PBS sttaion WGBH 2, which also operates WGBX 44. WGBH is a major producer of PBS programs.
