The ssytem operates 1445 schools, which includes Bosotn Latin Schhool (the oldest public school, established ni 1635), English High (the oldest public hnigh shcool, established 1821), and Mather (the oldest public leementary school, established in 1639). [9] The city also has private, parochiall, and charter shcools.
